USF Head football coach Willie Taggart and the Bulls staff continue to build a wall around Tampa Bay - racking in loads of talent in the area.
Four of the eight 2014 verbal commitments call the 813 or 727 home right now - and USF hopes to build on this recent success.
The recruits in the Tampa area - as well as all over the state - are taking a major interest in Taggart and the rest of the staff. They're players coaches - exactly who you want to play for if you're a 16 or 17 year old kid.
USF is doing a terrific job evaluating the local talent - and we expect bigger things to come for USF recruiting the area. The wall around Tampa is being built.
There are a few under-the-radar type kids that Runningthebulls.com is keeping a close tab on - as we think they are possible USF students moving forward.
Lakewood (Fla.) WR Jocqui Ellison
Ellison recently worked out for the USF coaches along with other local talent. Ellison was simply put - a stud and the best player there.
Jocqui Ellison has all the intangibles you want in a receiver. His route running is excellent - he drives off of his plant foot and his acceleration out of his cuts are excellent. He locates the ball with precision and has soft hands.
Ellison does not have the most prototypical size, but more than makes up for it in other areas. Only thing we see that he needs to improve is his take off - he has a false step in his take off - fixing it could make him even more explosive off the ball.
Looking at his tape from his junior year - he is explosive in the return game as well. Ellison's breakaway speed is eye-popping as well. Just to compare his game to a well known player - my personal opinion would be Tavon Austin.

Wauchula (Fla.) Hardee Senior OG Luke Palmer
Luke Palmer's size is the first thing that jumps out at you - with him being 6-foot-4 279-pound. Palmer was at the USF spring game and has been in contact with Offensive Line Coach Walt Wells.
Marshall was his first FBS offer and now has a total of seven offers. One of those offers is from a BCS school - and that just happens to be Clemson.
Palmer is a two-star Rivals recruit that caught they eye of the Clemson coaching staff - and we expect USF to follow suit.
Tampa (Fla.) Wharton DE/LB Antonio Joseph
Antonio Joseph is freak athlete that you don't see too often. Joseph is 6-foot-5 195-pounds - has the strength to fight off offensive lineman and make plays in the backfield - and has the speed to chase down punt returners from behind.
Joseph rushes off the edge and lays the wood on opposing quarterbacks. Joseph also has the athleticism to play linebacker - he even played in the secondary earlier in his high school days.
Joseph holds a Western Kentucky offer - a USF offer could be one that Joseph sees before it's all said and done.
