Florida has its share of football powers, and that's no secret.
What may be a secret to most is the quality of basketball played in the state. Rivals.com - however - recognizes the Sunshine State as a basketball haven, with no less than ten players listed in the latest Rivals150 basketball rankings.
Included on that list - but not from the state of Florida - also are a few prominent USF targets.
Led by Lake Highland Prep (and North Carolina commit) Joel Berry, the state has four players in the top 50.
Berry ranks at No. 21, according to Rivals.com national basketball analyst Eric Bossi. He's followed by Montverde Academy guard D'Angelo Russell at No. 22. Jacksonville Providence guard Grayson Allen is ranked 32nd on the list. Allen has been offered by the Bulls.
Oakland Park Northeast forward Malik Price-Martin checks in at 45th.
Another USF target from Maryland, out of Baltimore Mount St. Joseph High School, is guard Phil Booth. Booth is ranked 72nd in the latest listings.
Also listed on the latest rankings are Miami commit Adonys Henriquez (Orlando Christian Prep) at 75th, West Oaks Academy (Orlando) forward Boubacar Moungoro, who checks in at 102. Jacksonville Arlington Country Day guard Damontrae Jefferson is listed at 104. Justin Bibbs, a guard from Montverde Academy is ranked 127.
Two Broward County stars, guard Kobe Eubanks of American Heritage-Plantation (133) and Blanche Ely (Pomano Beach) guard Lance Tejada (138th) are also on the list.
