3. Linebacker Kawika Mitchell (1999-2002)
Kawika Mitchell transferred from Georgia in 1999 and the rest is history.
Mitchell started in 43 games at weakside linebacker and anchored the middle of the field with both his power and speed.
He totaled 367 tackles during this time in Tampa, a program record and totaled 117 tackles in 2002, ranking second all time behind Tyrone McKenzie for most tackles in a single season.
Mitchell was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2002 NFL draft (one of the highest Bulls ever drafted) and eventually won a Super Bowl ring with the 2007 New York Giants.
Mitchell was the perfect linebacker, standing at 6'2" 255 lbs., he was a fast, strong wrecking ball that could burst through the line and cover anyone in the middle of the field.
He was truly a cornerstone for the program and will always be remembered.
