TAMPA -- Family ties at Tampa Sickles High School today where USF commits Josh Black and Zack Hudson made it official with South Florida.
In a room filled with families, coaches, mentors, and friends, as they all offered up their kindest regards to what will be a promising future for these two future Bulls.
Offensive tackle Zach Hudson told Runningthebulls.com he picked USF because of the staff and players.
"On my visit to USF I really got along with all of the players and coaching staff," Hudson said. "I did look at N.C. State, but after the visit to USF that was not in the picture".
Hudson decommitted from Missouri in early January.
The Gryphons went further in the post-season than any other team in school history. Head coach Brian Turner gave much of the credit for that success to Hudson and USF signee Josh Black
"He (Josh Black) is the best defensive player I have ever seen," said Turner. "USF got a steal today when they got Black, he has a lot of hard work to do; but with his family's support I am certain he can take it to the next level".
Hudson is nephew of Turner, and with that being said, Turner had a few thoughts to share about how that relationship challenged Hudson and his game even more.
"The kids on the team couldn't see that I was going to give him an easy time, so I probably treated him worse than the rest of these guys," said Turner. "Zach worked hard was tough, and accepted the challenge."
"This class right here is best class we've ever seen and I congratulate each and every one of them, and can't wait to see what the future has in store".
Hudson and Black join five other Tampa Bay athletes that signed with USF, part of the 39th ranked class in the Rivals.com rankings.
