Vanguard (Fla.) safety Fred Gaskin made a little history with his commitment to South Florida on Monday. Gaskin became the third highest-rated recruit to commit to the Bulls in Rivals history and was the first RIvals 250 player since 2014 when D'Ernest Johnson committed.
Gaskin is a huge pickup for Alex Golesh and his staff and his current ranking of 106 in the RIvals 250 puts him just behind Ryne Giddens (61) and Terrence Mitchell (89) in Bulls' history.
Golesh and his staff put in major work to land Gaskin who at one time had a top eight of Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, FSU, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Tennessee. The Bulls staff already had connections with Gaskin during their time in Knoxville and that helped pay off with his commitment.
Gaskin joined four-star linebacker Zavier Hamilton as the headliners for an impressive 2024 haul thus far for Golesh in his first season as a head coach.
