Bulls land Georgia LB

Atlanta (Ga.) Mays linebacker Antonio Grier got a jump on many 4th of July commits when he announced at midnight his pledge to the South Florida Bulls. The new South Florida coaching staff are trying to rebuild a depleted linebacker corps that was down to just a handful of players this spring.

"I decided to commit because I know I would get great coaching mostly a great education and wanted to get out of Georgia. South Florida is a great place to be. I want to help them rebuild and change the game. My plans and my mind set is going in as a true freshman playing winning games changing the people around and make them a better person while I'm making myself a better person on and off the field. I can't wait to start playing but first I have to finish chasing this state championship with my brothers first then I would be down to south Florida to win some," he said.

Assistant Blue Adams was the lead recruiter for Grier.

"Coach Adams and I talked to him everyday. There isn't a day that we go without communicating. He is a great person and father. Not only do I want coaching but I also want life learned lessons," he said.

Grier is a big pickup as the Bulls aim to rebuild that position.

"It feels great waking up as a young bull, Grier said Tuesday morning.
