South Florida added another 2026 commitment on Sunday from West Boca HS pass rusher Demetrius Geathers. Geathers was an early offer from defensive line coach Kevin Patrick in 2023 and the Bulls hosted him multiple times over the last two years before his commitment.

Fro Geathers the decision to commit early was an easy one for him after seeing the USF program for two years under Alex Golesh.

"USF felt like home and like a big family reunion," he said. "I enjoyed the atmosphere, the fans, the coaches and the players. It’s where I want to be."

During the two years of active recruitment from USF, Geathers said something he picked up about the culture also played a big factor in his decision to commit.

"My favorite part of visiting is being in the locker room and seeing how they respond to a loss and win," he said.

The building relationship with Geathers and Patrick the Bulls defensive line coach also played a big factor in his decision.

"He’s like an uncle he keeps it real with me from the jump, what I’m good at and what I need to improve on. He’s been nothing but great since I met him," he said.

While he was visiting, Geathers shared the news with the Bulls staff surprising the coaches.

"Coach (Chad) Creamer was in shock and Coach Patrick and Coach Golesh gave me hugs," he said of the moment he broke the news to the staff he wanted to be a Bull.

As far as what he brings to the table as an edge rusher, Geathers described his game as "fast and smooth. I don’t like to be touched by o-linemen, so I have to get around."

Geathers is currently the third commit for the 2026 class for the Bulls.
