Longtime South Florida lean and three-star defensive end Trey Laing from Leon HS in Tallahassee made things official verbally committing to the Bulls on Sunday along with his younger brother Kyler Laing.

Kyler said the whole family made the trip down to Tampa just before the summer dead period to meet with the Bulls staff and that led to Sunday's decision for both brothers to commit.

"We went down on Friday with our family and we wanted to see everything and we got to meet with coach Strong. Coach Strong really got our attention talking about the education aspect and Trey and I wanted to go to the same college and we both wanted to be close to home so our parents could see us, so USF is a great fit for us and our family," Kyler said.

Bulls assistant coach Justin Burke was the lead recruiter both Laing brothers and he made a strong impression on the family.

"Coach Burke was really excited when we committed and he told both Trey and myself he likes the way we use our hands on defense. He is a really humble coach and that stood out," Kyler said.

Seeing all of campus and meeting with the staff also helped make the decision easy for the Laing family.

"The campus at USF is really impressive and it is rising up. It is a newer campus and they are building all kinds of new stuff and even things like a Publix are right there. The coaches are really humble and Trey and I can play together so it made sense for us to commit."

Trey is the sixth commitment for 2018 while Kyler is the first for 2019 for the Bulls.
