BROOKSVILLE -- Green and gold was in the air Wednesday afternoon at Nature Coast Technical High School, located in heart of Brooksville, Fla.
National signing day was in full effect and both Principal Toni-Ann Noyes and Coach Charles Liggett expressed with great enthusiasm their future projections for future USF defensive end Rohan Blackwood.
"I am even more excited Blackwood has chosen to stay in Florida, so we can be close to him," Noyes said. "USF is close to my heart and that's where my son and my daughter went to school"
She went on to thank Blackwood's parents for giving her the opportunity to guide him during his Shark days.
"Blackwood has come a long way since he came to Nature Coast out of his freshman year and we knew he was going to be something special at the time," Liggett said. "When you got guys like Rohan Blackwood playing on your defense, you're definitely going to be pretty good"
"Blackwood is our fifth Division 1 signee, and that is a big deal for us and our program," the former head coach said. "We are very proud of Rohan, he has had many trips during this recruiting process and we are glad to see him happy with his final decision."
In an interview with Runningthebulls.com video reporter Victoriana Migliaccio, Blackwood said "Coach Taggart and staff along with the players really showed me some love, that combined with being close to my family clinched the decision for me"
Blackwood went on to say his biggest goal moving forward "is to be a true USF freshman on the field."
