Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood DB Chris Jones gave his verbal commitment to USF on Saturday.
Jones, a 6-foot, 175 cornerback for the Saints, said the proximity to home was a big factor.
"First of all it's close to home and there are great coaches there," said Jones. "Coach (Ron) Cooper and I connected right off the bat. I see myself fitting well in their defense."
Jones was offered after the Jacksonville satellite camp, and picked USF over Florida International, Indiana, Purdue, and Wisconsin.
"The academics were strong, the whole program is great and I feel there is a chance for me to play right away."
Jones becomes the fifth defensive back to pledge to play for the Bulls.
"Coach Taggart welcomed me to the family. I felt like I was a part of the family immediately. I feel the love of a family with USF."
