USF just landed a big time verbal commitment from Tampa (Fla.) Wharton Quarterback Chase Litton.
He announced his commitment this after noon on the local television station - Bright House Sports Networks.
Litton had other offers from LSU, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Western Kentucky, and Western Michigan.
With much uncertainty around whether or not Miami Jackson QB Quinton Flowers will commit, Litton is a big get for USF.
Litton will now get to start recruiting other Tampa prospects - trying to sway them towards the Bulls.
He threw for Alabama on Saturday and Louisville on Sunday - he also has plans to throw at South Florida on Wednesday.
Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst Kynon Codrington had this to say about Litton:
"Litton has the size and arm strength to be a capable BCS starter in the right scheme. His mechanics need to be fine tuned, but that should come as he develops more," Codrington said. "Has a tendency to spray the ball around. We would like to see him become more accurate."
" He drives the ball downfield well and does a nice job seeing the field," Codrington added. "USF is getting a solid field general similar to Mike White in last year's class."
Litton becomes the seventh class of 2014 commitment for USF head coach Willie Taggart and the first at quarterback.
With the Litton commitment, USF moves to 40th in the Rivals.com national rankings. The Bulls are now third in the American Athletic Conference behind Louisville and Rutgers.
