TAMPA -- FAU continues to lead the Bulls after three, 21-10.
The Owls held to the Bulls to yet another scoreless quarter while scoring a touchdown of their own. Jonathan Wallace rushed for one yard with just under two minutes remaining in the quarter, helping to put FAU up 21-10 to build a solid lead heading into the final fifteen minutes.
RB Marcus Shaw continues to get the bulk of the carries, and currently has 139 yards on the night.
The Bulls' passing game continues to look abysmal, having tallied only 64 yards in the air thus far.
Both teams were scoreless up until the final seconds of the second quarter.
Florida Atlantic's Jacquez Johnson had a four-yard run into the end zone with 35 seconds remaining, putting the Owls up 14-10 going into the half.
The Bulls were stopped at the goal line mid-way through the second quarter, with Marcus Shaw failing to punch one in on three separate tries. Steven Bench has taken over the quarterback position for the rest of this game in light of Eveld's difficult start, and looks comfortable under center.
It was the same story early for the USF Bulls, with QB Bobby Eveld being sacked less than five minutes into the game, causing a fumble that was recovered for a touchdown by Florida Atlantic's Cory Henry.
The Bulls bounced back much in the way they did last week against Michigan State, with Marvin Kloss kicking a 50-yard field to put the USF on the board
After Eveld's blunder, Coach Willie Taggart replaced Eveld with Steven Bench, who lead the team to its first offensive touchdown in four quarters of play, a 25 yard TD pass to Ryan Eppes. USF leads FAU 10-7 heading into the second quarter.
USF takes on Florida Atlantic Saturday at 7 PM from Raymond James Stadium.
