TAMPA - Corey Allen Jr. drained a three-pointer from the right corner with 37 seconds remaining to seal South Florida's 73-70 win over Florida A&M University Thursday at the Sun Dome.
The win - part of the Las Vegas Classic - gives the Bulls four straight wins by three points or less. Allen had 22 points, and Victor Rudd had 19 for the 8-2 Bulls.
FAMU was led by Jamie Adams, who had 16 points and had a chance to pull the Rattlers within one, but missed the front-end of a one-if-one with eight-tenths of a second left and freshman Chris Perry gathered the rebound.
FAMU used a three-point attack in the first half, shooting 7-of-15 from beyond the arch to end the first half tied at 37. The Rattlers had a four point lead in the first five minutes of the second half, but couldn't with stand Allen and Rudd. USF shot 57 percent from the field in the second half.
The Bulls will travel to Las Vegas to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs Sunday.
