Team Notes

  • - USF posted a season high in total offense with 364 yards and first downs with 18.

  • - USF started four true freshmen for the second-straight game as QB Mike White & G Dominique Threatt started on offense and CB Johnny Ward and S Nate Godwin on the defense. 12 true freshmen made the trip to Houston.

  • - DeDe Lattimore made his 44th career start, one shy of 2nd most all-time at USF and six shy of the record of 50 set by George Selvie (2006-09)

  • - USF posted nine tackles for loss, its fourth straight game with nine or more TFL. The Bulls entered the game ranked No. 22 in the FBS in tackles for loss.

    Individual Notes

    Offense

  • - True Freshman QB Mike White made his first career start. He posted a USF season high in passing by the end of the third quarter posting 223 yards on 19-of-30. White finished with USF season highs in completions (26), attempts (41) and yards (311) and threw for the most yards since B.J. Daniels threw for 312 vs. Ball State in the 4th game last year.

  • - White completed passes to a season high 10 different receivers.
  • - Andre Davis extended his USF record consecutive games with a catch streak to 26.

  • - Davis moved up to 8th on the USF career receptions chart with 97.

  • - Davis moved up to 10th on the USF career receiving yards chart 1,218.

  • - Davis posted a season high in catches (9) and yards (134), posting his second career 100-yard receiving game and first since posting 191 yards on 12 catches at Nevada on Sept. 8 last year. He had five catches in the first half, tying his season high.

  • - Mike McFarland made his first career TD catch in the 2nd quarter on an 8-yard toss from Mike White. McFarland made his second with 11:50 to play in the game to bring USF within 28-23. McFarland finished with four catches for 40 yards.

  • - Mike White completed his first career TD pass on the 10-yard toss to McFarland. White went 5-for-5 for 67 yards on the Bulls first touchdown drive of the game.

  • - Lawrence Martin made his first career reception on an 11-yard catch for a first down on the Bulls first TD drive of the game.

  • - Jordan Duval made his first career catch with a 16-yard grab for a first down in the third quarter.

    Defense

  • - DeDe Lattimore moved into fifth all-time on the USF career tackles chart with 303.

  • - Johnny Ward made his first career start as USF began with six defensive backs. Ward made his first career fumble recovery in the USF endzone on Houston's first drive of the second half. Ward posted a career high seven tackles.

  • - Mark Joyce tied a career high with nine tackles.

    Special Teams

  • - Chris Dunkley's 41-yard punt return in the first quarter was the longest by a USF player since Terrence Mitchell had a 67-yard return vs. Western Kentucky in 2010.

  • - Marvin Kloss extended his consecutive field goal streak to a USF record 13 in a row with his 49-yarder in the third quarter breaking the mark of 12 set by Maikon Bonani (2011-12). He also had his USF career and season record fourth field goal of 50+ yards on the season in the 3rd quarter and now has seven field goals of 47+ yards on the year, which is also a USF career record for most field goals of that distance.

  • - Kloss on his 13 field goal streak has hit seven field goals (52, 50, 50, 50, 49, 49 & 47) which rank among the 13 longest in USF history.
