Julius Forte said the team remains 'hungry' for that first win.

Andre Davis said he's more focused on the offense getting better than individual goals

Willie Taggart said the Bulls are 'so close'.

All were highlighted in Tuesday's weekly press conference.

Forte was first, and was asked what the state of mind was for the "Nobody's lost faith, everyone still believes, everyone's still on the bus," Forte said. "We went through a lot of adversity in camp, and we saw this - we didn't see our record coming, but we knew we'd have adversity and we'd have to stay together."

"Through this adversity I think we've gelled together," Forte said. "Everyone's just hungry and ready for that first win."

"We still have a lot of football to play and we plan on getting what we want out of this season," Forte added.

"This (the conference game with Cincinnati) dictates what happens throughout the season."

Andre Davis, a junior wide receiver for the Bulls, was next - and spoke of former Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson teammate Chris Moore who plays for Cincinnati.

"We called him 'Dr. Moore'," Davis said. "He's very smart and always ran precise routes."

Moore and Davis played together on Jefferson's 2010 state championship team - against Miami running back Duke Johnson.

"We were the two main guys that led our team to a state championship," Davis said of Moore. "We were pretty close, very competitive and pretty close."

Davis said the records and milestones he's approaching are unimportant to him, but they're nice.

"I just want to continue to make plays for my team," Davis said. "Obviously records are nice, but winning, and making things like that happen for my team is much more important."

Head football coach Willie Taggart talked about setting the standard and staying with it.

"We're trying to set a standard of what we're going to be, of where we're going to be," Taggart said. "That comes with time. We've got to be consistent as coaches, the way we do things. It's all new, it's all new to our guys and some of our coaches."

Taggart said he's looking for improvement each week.

"You see it on film, I saw some of it on Saturday," Taggart said. "We're so close. Our guys are giving us great effort, and that's impressive to be going through what we're going through."
