Bulls need to control tempo, D-up to win
Slowing down the Wildcats will be priority one for coach Stan Heath and the Bulls.
The Wildcats also out-rebounded the Red Storm 53-37, including gathering 17 offensive rebounds to 10.
That's something that haunted the Bulls in Sunday's loss to Syracuse. The Orange outrebounded USF 45-26 and had a 19-6 advantage on the offensive glass.
For USF to win, the Bulls will have to control the tempo and shoot well from the perimeter. USF started off well from outside against the Orange on Sunday, but as the game wore on, the team became cold from outside.
The Bulls seemed to have found their identity as a defensive team. They held Syracuse, who averaged 82 points per game, to just 55 points in the loss on Sunday.
Villanova is coming off a game where they scored 98 points. With that said, USF will need to play quick defense against the Wildcats and keep the score in the 50's and 60's if they want to win.
Villanova's James Bell is the top rebounder on the team, and Arcidiacono lit it up from behind the three-point line, shooting 7-of-13.
We'll have game-day coverage beginning at 7:45 for the 8 PM tip-off.
