Massive JUCO DT names top three

At 6-foot-7, 370-pounds, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College defensive tackle James Carmon is one of the largest athletes in the country.

The massive prospect originally from Baltimore, Md., has eight offers and more on the way but has named the top three leaders for his commitment.

Carmon has offers on the table from Mississippi State, Alabama, Memphis, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Coastal Carolina and a verbal offer from Penn State but three are standing out at the moment.

"Mississippi State, Alabama and Ole Miss are my favorites," Carmon said. "Tennessee has kind of fell off because I haven't heard from them the whole summer since I've been home."

Carmon stated that out of his top three that the Bulldogs are in the best position because he hears from their coaches every week.

"I have a good relationship with Mississippi State because I like the coaches up there," Carmon said. "Coach (Les) Koenning is my guy and their defensive coaches call me. Most people think that I am going to a really big school, not saying that Mississippi State is not big, but I'm thinking about settling in and going there. I don't know yet but they are in my top three. They are in the race."

If Carmon had his way, he would be dressing out and plugging holes for MSU in the fall.
