Five-star WR's recruitment takes a turn

Los Angeles (CA) Cathedral wide receiver Randall Carroll flew out to Florida this past weekend for the challenge of the Top Gun Showcase. The event featured some of the top talent in the country and Carroll wanted to reassert his status as a Rivals.com five-star prospect.

Carroll had no problem doing so as Rivals.com national analyst Jeremy Crabtree wrote that "Carroll battled Beaumont West Brook running back Christine Michael for top player honors. Carroll easily was the fastest player on the field, but that's nothing new. He's one of the top sprinters in California. But he's not a track guy playing football. He's a football player who loves to blow past defenders with his breakaway speed. He also showed good hands for a speed demon. He also showed off outstanding leaping ability, going up and getting the football like he was a power forward in basketball instead of a 5-foot-11 receiver.

Carroll is committed to USC, but is still considering Texas A&M, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, UCLA, Florida State and California.
