Fellows has change of heart

It had long been rumored that Garfield Heights (Ohio) defensive end Melvin Fellows may have committed too early in the process. The Rivals100 star gave a pledge to Ron Zook and Illinois back in December of 2007 before other offers started to pour in for the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder. Now four months after pulling the trigger for the Illini one of the top players in Ohio has changed his mind and decided to stay home to play with the Buckeyes.

"I have committed to play at Ohio State," Fellows told BuckeyeGrove.com via text message on Thursday afternoon.

And with that the speculation ends around a will-he or won't-he scenario around Fellows. The big man was in attendance for the Ohio State spring game after previously being committed to travel to Champaign (Ill.) for the Illinois spring game. Even after a reported great visit to Columbus it seemed as if Fellows wanted to take one more look at Illinois before coming up with a final decision.

On Thursday it was enough for Fellows and he quietly ended the suspense without much fanfare.

BuckeyeGrove.com will have more on this breaking news including Fellows in his own word going into why he decided to make the change and why now in the process.
