New In-State offer for elite LB

Offers number eight and nine rolled in this week for 2009 Rivals100 linebacker Jarvis Jones. Jones already has a very impressive offer list and the in-state Bulldogs and Central Florida Knights added their name to the list recently.

"I think I have about nine or ten offers now," said Jones. "FSU, Auburn, Miami, Illinois, Clemson, Alabama, and Kentucky offered me before this week and both Georgia and Central Florida came to my school and offered me this week."

Both new offers surprised Jones in different ways this week.

"I had not really been hearing from Central Florida that much, so I did not expect an offer from them. I don't know much about them, but I know they had a pretty good season. I will try to learn more about them."

"I expected the Georgia offer a little sooner, so I wasn't really surprised by the offer, but just when it came. I have been expecting this one for a while."

Georgia may have offered a couple of weeks later than a few others, but did that have to do with Coach David Johnson leaving Athens for West Virginia a couple of weeks ago?

"He was my recruiting coach, so I think that could have had something to do with it. I am not sure. I do have an offer now, so it is cool."

When the Dawgs offered, they sent the top guy to Carver.
