Hogs hit JUCO ranks

Arkansas usually tries to add two or three junior college athletes in each recruiting class and this year will likely be about the same.

The Razorbacks currently have a commitment from Butler County (Kan.) Community College wide receiver Dee Williams, 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Williams signed with Arkansas out of Ashdown in 2006, but he failed to qualify academically. He played as a true freshman at Butler and caught 20 passes for 286 yards and 1 touchdown. Williams also averaged 22.4 on 20 kickoff returns.

Independence (Kan.) Community College defensive end David Bedford, 6-5, 235, 4.7, is currently favoring four schools with Arkansas, Miami, Kansas and Kansas State at the top of his list. Bedford redshirted last year and will have three years to play three at the next level.
