AUBURN | Time is running out for wideout Stanton Truitt and tight end Chris Laye to enjoy high school.
It'll be a memory this time next week.
The two Auburn commits, both from Georgia, will complete graduation requirements this week and expect to begin living the college life soon after that. Laye and Truitt are planning to take the next step in their football careers quickly as well -- by participating in some bowl practices later this month.
"(Staying in high school) definitely could have been a lot of fun and I'm definitely going to miss having my friends around," Laye said Sunday morning. "I know I'm going to a good place and Auburn is going to take care of me. I'm really looking forward to getting here and starting a new chapter."
The two commits comprised half of Auburn's group of official visitors during the weekend. Still, Laye and Truitt had much different agendas. Both players have been committed to Auburn for months and long ago stopped considering other schools.
