ATLANTA - Sunday's Rivals Camp Series event was not just for players out of the state of Georgia with several participants coming from neighboring states including Derek Barnett who made the trip down from the greater Nashville area. The Brentwood (Tenn.) athlete already holds more than a dozen offers from teams in the SEC, ACC and Big Ten but is still hopeful to add more, including one from a school that he knows very well.

The 6-foot-4, 258-pounder is an Ohio State legacy with a grandfather who played under legendary coach Woody Hayes and Barnett himself is quite familiar with the Ohio State campus with local ties to the capital city of Ohio. On Sunday he had a chance to compete against some of the best competition in the Southeast and show that he needs to be looked at when it comes time to update the next set of Rivals.com rankings, currently Barnett checks in as a three-star.

Barnett plans on visiting Ohio State over the summer but it remains up in the air if he will come to Columbus to camp or just spend time with family.

We caught up with Barnett before the start of the Rivals Camp Series event to get his thoughts on what he wanted to accomplish at one of the nation's premiere camp events as well as how recruiting is going to date. Check out what Barnett had to say in this exclusive interview.
