Bruins in thick of it for four-star

The word is UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel, found out about four-star offensive tackle Donovan Smith (6-5, 270, 5.1) from Owings Mills, Md., from a friend of his who he met while he was offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. The affable Bruin coach has his team in the running for one of the Mid-Atlantic's best prospects.

Smith was another one of those players, who received an early UCLA offer, sometime during the early spring.

"I've just started doing my homework on UCLA," Smith said. "I have been going back and forth with Coach Neuheisel and Coach (Daronte) Jones.
