RTB.com has confirmed that Colquitt County High School (Moultrie, Ga.) cornerback Johnny Ward has officially signed his letter of intent to play for the University of South Florida today.
Ward, a Rivals.com two-star recruit, signs today after a seven month verbal commitment that was declared on June 23rd. Although Wrad committed to play for the Bulls when Skip Holtz was the head coach, the Moultrie native stuck firm to his commitment.
Ward had 49 tackles and four interceptions in the regular season for the Colquitt County in his senior year. The Georgia native could be a very nice role player in his freshman year for a Bulls secondary that struggled mightily in 2012. Ward is the third player that new head coach Willie Taggart has been able to coax to Tampa from Georgia; he joins fellow Peach State athletes Jeremi Hall and Dominique Threatte on in the Bulls' signing class.
