RTB.com has confirmed that Hillsborough High School (Tampa, Fla.) outside linebacker Nigel Harris has officially signed his letter of intent to play for the University of South Florida today.
Harris, a Rivals.com three-star recruit, was a surprise verbal commit to USF, announcing his commitment on January 23rd, two weeks after his official visit with the Bulls. The Hillsborough High School product chose USF after receiving offers from 14 schools. Harris chose the Bulls, not just for the football, but for the education; the linebacker plans to pursue a degree in engineering.
Harris was a very nice pick up for head coach Willie Taggart and the coach who recruited him Raymond Woodie. The Hillsborough linebacker will be a great addition to the USF linebacker corps that struggled in 2012 and is looking for a bounce back season next year.
Harris on his Commitment to USF
"I love the coaching staff and they relate to us players as not only players, but as people and students," Harris added. "They understand that we're here for an education as well as play football."
