Division I bound high school offensive tackles often find themselves going against defensive linemen they outweigh by 50-100 pounds and struggle developing their games because of it. Tallahassee (Fla.) Florida High offensive tackle John McGhin, however, has the rare opportunity of facing a Division I defensive end in practice every day.

"I go against one of the best defensive ends in the country, Brandon Jenkins," McGhin noted. "He helps me with my pass blocking and run blocking. In my mind he is probably the best defensive end in the nation. He's not that big, but he's got speed, he knows how to use his hands very well and if I can beat him, I can beat anybody."

The 6-foot-3, 291-pound McGhin's efforts have already lead to offers from South Florida, Marshall, East Carolina and Vanderbilt. Another school showing considerable interest in his services is Iowa State.

"They've taken several visits down and their defensive coordinator talked with me," McGhin said of the Cyclones. "They brought their offensive line coach and their offensive coordinator. I don't think they have offered me yet, but they have a whole lot of interest and they've already called me. They liked my size and they watched tapes of me."

McGhin said he expects Iowa State is recruiting him as an offensive tackle, but could not be 100 percent sure. He will not be able to make it to Ames this summer to visit, but is looking at Iowa State as a possible official visit destination.
