Longhorn Hot 11
Jason Suchomel
Orangebloods.com Throughout the football season, we at Orangebloods.com will offer up our insights about the Longhorns that we believe were the hottest players on the Texas football team.
It's a fine line ranking the top players from week to week, and there are usually several guys that just miss the cut. As always, we encourage readers to head over to the Inside the Forty Acres board to offer up their own opinions.
THE LONGHORN HOT 11 | Rank | | Player | The Analysis | Last Week | 1 | | Aaron Ross | See, it doesn't take much for a defensive player to grab the top spot on this list. All Ross had to do against the Sooners was record two interceptions and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. All in a day's work, right? The senior corner was exceptional last week and he provided the kinds of big plays that the defense has been lacking all year. | 4 | 2 | | Colt McCoy | Not a bad day at all for the redshirt freshman. Playing in his first ever Red River Rivalry, McCoy was close to flawless in leading the Hrons to the come-from-behind victory. His stats won't blow anyone away (11 of 18 for 108 yards and two touchdowns) but his ability to manage the offense and his efficiency in the second half were incredible. This was by far the best game of McCoy's young career. | NR | 3 | | Lyle Sendlein | In tough games like last week's, the team that wins the battles in the trenches is usually the one that will come out on top. The Texas offensive line, as usual, played a very high level, and Sendlein was again there to lead the way. The senior center has been terrific since taking over the starting job last year, and he deserves a lot of the credit for the line's overall success. | NR |
